Barf Retch Spew

I was really sick over the weekend. I still feel as though I'd eaten something from here:

It's a smelly dumpster in an alley that I walk by every day on my way to work. Yuck.

I was barfing my head off yesterday and, frankly, I'm still afraid to eat anything. I'm a little woozy. I bet if I were to watch any of the Top Ten Movie Barf Scenes I'd be back at it again. *Urp*

The flu sucks. For my various symptoms I have Imodium (you don't want to know), and Tylenol (headache) to get me through my work day. But I don't have any Gravol which is probably what I need the most.

Finally, the company that manages the building I work in is remodelling the bathrooms on this floor. So I have to go downstairs either via elevator or stairwell (which may or may not be locked) to be sick. I hope the janitor doesn't mind cleaning up puke.

I know, you're thinking, "Why didn't you stay home?" I have no sick days left. Argh. Anyway, I'm here and a little green around the gills.

All about Robert Pickton by Michael Newton Now he's a famous freak. With 11 he's been charged with as many murders as Clifford Olson.

WTC was not the first time people leapt to their deaths in a NYC Fire. It happened here too. The factory was a sweatshop and the fire was horrible.

9/11

I've changed the look of my site just for today. You know why.

I'm not going to post funny links or rant and rave about what I like or dislike today. Later on I may post some links to other sites commemorating September 11, 2001 in a special way.

There are many.

So much has happened this year. Many tears have been shed. The world is a different place.

I pray that the victims and their families, everyone in the free world for that matter, heals just a little more today. I hope that we can find new and creative ways to prevent the events from a year ago from ever happening again.

Let's not forget this. Honestly, I don't think I could if I tried.

I don't think we'll ever truly understand it. Who would care to know such depraved reasoning anyway?

I not only remember people, planes and buildings being destroyed. I remember line ups at blood banks. I remember volunteers chomping at the bit to go and assist in any way with the rescue and recovery efforts. I remember police and firemen collecting for the families of the victims. I remember the people opening their homes to stranded airline passengers in their time of need. There has been a lot of love between strangers since the horrible events that day. If there's one thing we've learned since 9/11 it's that even with all it's warts our society still knows how to love.

Growing up there are certain people who's kindness sticks with you through the years. Ralph William Simmons was one of those people for me.

Growing up my sister and I spent a lot of time next door at Catherine and Ralph Simmons home. We called them Nanny and Grandad Simmons although they were no blood relation they were very important to us and our two families participated in many events together. My mom said, "It's like the end of an era." I agree. We'll miss you Grandad.
