I used to listen to Art Bell and other conspiracy theorists talk about things like UFOs and the paranormal quite a bit. You could say I did so to the point of obsession. I guess I was looking for some kind of connection to something. Now that I don't feel the need to look outside myself like I did my motivation are more just out of interest. I saw a link to the UFO Evidence site in a newsletter I get every day and had a look. Fascinating stuff.

I think I'll re-read Carl Sagan's Cosmos. His statistics as to the probability of life elsewhere in the universe are compelling enough to have made me think (and that's something I try to do sparingly).
