Goodbye Bo

Jul 28, 2004 by Mike Browne in Downers | 2 Comments
I just back from a memorial service for our good friend Bo. He died way too early. His disease got the better of him. It was a sad service. His wife sobbed through the whole thing and Bo's stepson just looked numbed by the whole thing. They have a lot of support though and I'm sure they'll be very well taken care of. The chapel was packed full of mourners. I'll miss his "hey buddy!", great big smile and firm handshake. He was a damned good guy and, even though he had his struggles, he gave a lot to people. Goodbye my friend.

A Moment of Silence

A Moment of Silence for a Great Man. So sad. With all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it is worth reflecting on the death of a very important person which almost went unnoticed last week.Larry LaPrise, the man who wrote "The Hokey Pokey", died peacefully at age 93.
The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into the coffin. They put his left leg in. Then the trouble started.

Marlon Brando dies at age 80

Marlon Brando dies at age 80. Was he seriously 80!? Wow. He was older than I thought. Sad to see him go. I loved him in The Godfather, Streetcar Named Desire, On The Waterfront and Apocalypse Now. An interesting yet troubled man to say the least. He will be missed.
