Doug Bennett of Doug and the Slugs has passed away. I knew about this on Sunday but kept forgetting to post about it. Doug and the Slugs were one of the first bands I ever saw in concert and they were great. No one like Van Halen ever came to Bridgewater. NS. We saw Doug and his mery band of Slugs again just two years ago and they were still rockin'.

Sad that he's gone. To quote one of Doug's more famous songs, "too bad".

Christopher Reeve dead at 52

Superman actor Christopher Reeve has passed away. After a fall from a horse 9 years ago paralyzed him Reeve went through hell but came out a winner proving he really was a 'Superman'. He became a world renowned advocate for spinal cord research. Reeve also returned to the film biz playing the shut in Jason Kemp in a 'for TV' remake of Hitchcock's Rear Window among other things.

A comedy genius. I'll miss his whiny style. He kicked ass in Caddyshack as crazy man Al Czervik. I also loved him a lesser known role playing Juliette Lewis's perverted dad in Oliver Stone's Natural Born Killers (here's the script).

Who was Janet Leigh you ask? She was mom of Jamie Lee Curtis ex-wife of Tony Curtis and the woman murdered in the shower scene in Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho.
