Check out Breathing Earth. It shows birth and death rates as well as CO2 emissions for every country in the world as it happens. Fascinating.

A Mother Behind Bars

It's another MOW for Insight Films. Yes, A Mother Behind Bars (very reminiscent of Snakes on a Plane) is the working title for this one. I started last week for 4 days as an Office P.A. and I was hired, after some wrangling by Greg Rousseax the 1st AD on the show, as 3rd Assistant Director for the show which goes to camera on Thursday for another 14 day shoot.

I love these things. Prep/Shoot/Wrap. Easy peasy lemon squeezy! Not to mention the fact that I'm back with the crew I love to work with. Its like a big family.

The director on this show is David Winlker who is no relation to Henry (the Fonz) Winkler, but is the son of Irwin Winkler, the producer of some of my favourite films namely Rocky, Raging Bull and Goodfellas. David told us yesterday that he used to play on the back lot of MGM and the space ship used in Planet of the Apes! Too cool.

Our director is also not so turned on about the name and is offering $100 to the person who comes up with a title better than "A Mother Behind Bars" by the time we wrap. I told him at lunch yesterday that I thought "Apocalypse Now" is a great title. He just looked at me like I were out of my tree and said not a word.

Anyhoo, off tomorrow morning to prep radios and my AD room. I'll be the "truck bitch" according to Greg. LOL! I think I might actually do some video blogging of the show from my perspective. I'll have more time on my hands as a 3rd AD. We'll see.

It's Rick James, bitch!

Apparently, Wicker Man sucks. Oh well, at least the cheques cleared.

I hang my head for being a part of another worthless Hollywood remake. Oh well, I got to work with Nic Cage... ;/

Croodile Hunter dies in Stingray Attack

Steve Irwin, Australia's favourite daredevil, has died at the age of 44 after a stingray attack on the Great Barrier Reef.

I can't say I'm very surprised at all. He did tend to take risks that left a lot of his fans wondering when this day would come. Now it has. Goodbye Steve. No more "Danger! Danger! Danger!" for you.
