Extended Fido Trailer

Feb 25, 2007 by Mike Browne in Zombies | Add comment

I don't usually post things to both of my sites (this is on zombiefreak.com as well), but I'm pretty excited about this movie, Fido, about a boy and his zombie. It was made here in BC and some folks I know from my stint on the Razzie nominated Wicker Man worked on it. No razzie for fido. It looks kind of fun.

The other blog

zombiefreak.com

Not only have I been blogging like mad here I've been writing at my other site, zombiefreak.com as well. After a redesign and some decisions on what exactly I want to do with that site it has been resurrected, re-animated if you will, as zombies are wont to be. It's new incarnation is explained best by the blurb at the top of the about page. It is as follows:

zombiefreak.com

All zombies all the time. If you love the horror genre, specifically zombies, as much as we do this is the place for you. Everything zombie related will be found in these pages. Our aim is for this site to become one of the top resources on the web for all things zombie.

That seems pretty focused to me. Those kind of sites have been the most successful for me (much unlike this blog which is just random weirdness). The old lunch site is a good example of a simple yet successful idea. I'm trying to post a little something zombie related every day. Anyway, bookmark zombiefreak.com and visit often. If you don't a zombie will come to your house and eat your brain.

Draft One - 37 pages (post 2)

I woke up feeling like I was stuck again. One of the characters was driving me nuts as were a couple of the opening scences. They been reworked to contain stronger story elements. Necessary exposition is dealt with in a far more interesting (read less boring) manner.

Quote of the day from one of my heroes, George A Romero:
"I like the idea that the monster is in us... somewhere in there. That's why I think I prefer all this sort of transformation monsters, that grow out of humans rather than beasts that are spawned in a septic tank. But, I suppose in a way that'd be human waste, too."

Speaking of zombies, I started reading Stephen King's Cell. So far: yikes! Of particular interest, it's being made into a film with Eli Roth of Hostel and Cabin Fever fame at the helm.

My site ZombieFreak.com has been resurrected. It's one of the many projects I've been working on. There's not a heck of a lot of content there yet, but it's shambling along. The plan is utilize it to help in the promotion of my movies.

Check in often...

Especially cool is the bit about the Dutch zombie film, Worst Case Scenario. They're looking for zombie extras. Airfare to Holland? Anyone?

I had to do it... Brokeback of the Dead? Come on. It's got my favourite zombie in it. His name is Bub and you'll see him in George A Romero's Day of the Dead. My MSN messenger address is bubzombie[at]hotmail.com if you'd like to shoot the breeze btw. ;)

My Pet Zombies

I'm not sure Carol would like it if I spent $400+ on a pet zombie, so I think I'll hold off until we're really wealthy. Then I'll get the set. Thanks to GoferBoy and Norwood Matt for the link via boingboing.net.

Irish TV watchdog orders Zombies to stay dead until 9pm - Yahoo! News UK
How unreasonable! The sooner kids learn that zombie exist and will eat their brains the better. Its a safety issue for God's sake.
