Canucks 2 – Predators 2 OT/Final

We had to be somewhere last night and could only listen to the first period of the game on the radio.

Jovo didn’t play. He may not play until the game in Chicago on Friday. Shite!

The predators scored first early in the period. Soon afterward Trevor Linden got an assist on a Ryan Kessler goal and then, 38 seconds later with the same line on the ice, Linden himself scored.

Things stayeed pretty much exactly that way for the entire time we were away from the game. We got back into the truck and listening to the game again with 10 minutes left in the thrid period. At 19:38 of the third frame Nashville’s Adam Hall jammed one past Dan Cloutier to tie the game at 2. What shitty luck.

In overtime the Canucks didn’t fare much better as the game ended 2 all. Rucinsky came close with 9 seconds left in OT, but was stonewalled by Tomas Vokoun.

One point for the Canucks and one for the Predators. Don Taylor, the Sportsnet anchor, said it best, “A tie is like kissing your sister”. The Canucks are still a few points behind Colorado and have other teams like Dallas and Calgary nipping at their heels.

Oh boy! Here come the play-offs.

Thanks to CKNW’s awesome audio vault I can listen to the game and follow up shows in their entirety after the fact. I never have to miss a game.

Oh yeah, and the Leafs lost to the Bruins (my favourite US team). What’s up with that Pauly?
