Hockey Day In Canada 2004

It’s Hockey Day In Canada today. I’ll be watching games all day.

At 7p.m. Eastern our injusry ridden Canucks play. Hopefully they’ll play with a little more oomph than they did on Thursday night against the Wild. They took a large sized spanking losing 6-2. Cloutier was pulled after allowing 4 goals on only 10 shots. The game got downright ugly. The Canucks are sorely missing some stars. Naslund, Jovanovski (who’s calling radio shows at home), Arvedson and Lindgren are all out with injuries and the team has had to rely on players called up from the Maintoba Moose just to get enough bodies on the bench.

The team seems to be losing heart. They’re doing okay in the standings, but to watch them play of late is like watching the downtrodden. The high paid ‘stars’ aren’t producing, nor are they leading the team as they should. Perhaps a trade to show them that not everyone is secure is in order. That or bench the non-producers.

Maybe this sign got to Bertuzzi:
