Canucks 3 – Stars 2 OT/Final

That’s more like it.

The Canucks came out looking a little sluggish and were down 2 – 1 after two periods of play. In the third, however, they were a team posessed outshooting the Stars 15 – 6. Geoff Sanderson blistered up the ice and blasted one by Ron Tugnutt’s right shoulder at 9:38 in the frame. The Stars, who were short a few defensemen and their star goalie, Marty Turco, suspended for 4 games for high sticking, could not recover.

In overtime Pitt Medows native Brendan Morrison scored on a breakaway to give the Canucks a much needed emotional lift.

Naslund has been struggling with an apparent elbow injury, has been unable to score in a number of games and seemed very frustrated at times throughout the game, the other forwards were looking great. Brad May and Brian Allen left the game with injuries and we’re not sure when we’ll see them again. Hopefully they won’t be out too long as there are only a few games left before playoffs begin!
