Canucks 4 – Oilers 3 – FINAL OT

The Canucks came from behind to tie the Oilers at 3 late in the third period. Finally, with 33 seconds left in overtime, in a two on one, Markus Naslund passed the puck to Geoff Sanderson streaking up the left wing. Sanderson kicked the puck onto his stick and backhanded it into the next. What a beautiful goal.

All night long the team looked great even though they were behind most of the time. Especially of note were Sanderson and Rucinsky. Both had goals and assists. The new guys are already paying dividends. One Sanderson plus one Rucinsky may not equal one Bertuzzi, but they sure looked great.
