I couldn’t watch the game last night as I was at a Bonus Party for work (and did quite well I might add). I did, however, listen to all of the post game buzz.

Canucks defensemen Sammy Salo overcame his scoring drought with the game winning goal with only 21 seconds left on the clock in the third period.

With the Canucks win, and Colorado’s overtime loss to Minnesota, Vancouver now sits atop the Northwest Division. If all stays as it is over th final two games of the season Vancouver will be playing Calgary in the first round of the play offs. Still, anything can happen…

The Canucks went to town on one of crappiest teams in the league last night. A relief really as they were beaten just over a week ago with Chicago and Columbus another pair of extremely shitty teams.

The team did last night what they should have done to those other teams. There were 13 of 18 players dressed involved in the scoring. Included in the scoring were favourites of mine Geoff Sanderson and Jason King. Even Naslund scored after a ten game drought.

Nice to see the team win a gimme. However, the last three games of the season are Anaheim, San José and Edmonton. According to the Canucks record against these teams these are not going to be easy.

And as a sidenote to a particular Leaf Fan, please save your comments until the story is posted at least. Do that or I’ll buy you a shirt from here, give you roofies and force you to wear it and nothing else at a Chinese food restaurant at Metrotown. After that I’ll tie you to a chair and force you to listen this CD over and over. LEAFS SUCK… so do the Wings, Calgary, Dallas, the Avalanche and the Oilers … and anyone else who wants to fight about it. 🙂
