WHO extends its SARS-related travel advice to Beijing and Shanxi province in China and to Toronto, Canada

Toronto’s Mayor, Mel Lastman, is pretty steamed about the WHO’s report calling it a “gross misrepresentation of the facts”. This does not bode well for the city’s economy especially in regards to tourism which ramps up considerably in the summer. Hopefully SARS will be conquered sooner rather than later. Lots of people are truly terrified. I’m not sure whether or not the WHO is right about their warnings on SARS, but methinks it best to err on the side of caution.
