‘Sopranos’ Premiere

Carol and I watched the first episode of the Sopranos Season 4 last night. According to CNN.com the ‘Sopranos’ premiere whacked all competition getting some awesome ratings.

This season started out on the right foot. The crap is going to fly for sure.

I even downloaded last night’s episode (Sunday night’s for you in the U.S.) from a binaries newsgroup. If you don’t get the cable channels broadcasting the show, which can be seen on Movie Central in Canada and HBO in the U.S., then you can get your Sopranos fix by pointing your newsreader at alt.binaries.great.

A few Ozz ‘n’ ends

The Osbournes premiere on CTV tonight. Apparently it won’t be bleeped at all. Yay Canada! My bet is it won’t last.

Hooped Either Way

On Fark.com this morining I saw a link to a Reuters report titled:

Cigarettes, Coffee Tied to Lower Parkinson’s Risk

This is interesting. I quit smoking 5 years ago and gained 60 lbs so my risk of heart attack has gone up considerably. Now I’m being told I’m more at risk for Parkinsons. Argh!

All this chasing of immortality that we humans do is insane. We’re all going to croak within years of one another no matter what we do. The only way this can be different is freak disease or tragic accident. We spend all this time obsessing on preventing, or delaying by moments, the inevitable when we could be having a good time.

Like the man said, “Life is what happens to you when you’re busy making other plans.”
