Apple ‘Switch’ Star Flies High

Remember Ellen Feiss the obviously stoned Mac switcher?

Wired says Apple ‘Switch’ Star Flies High.

Personally I think Ellen is cooked out of her noodle. I’ve watched her Apple Switch Ad a few times for comic relief. She even has her own fan club now. Way to go Ellen.

Who knew taking a few hits off a bong could get you so far in life? All it did for me was make me want to listen to Marley and Zepplin and eat donuts.

Give that poor girl a box of Oreos for God’s sake!

Backstage Pass

I would love to get a Backstage Pass to find out what really happens after the show. I’m sure it’s not pretty.

Zimbabwe Troubles

Carol’s family went to Zimbabwe a number of times when she was young. So the recent troubles are of specific interest around our house. Bob Swift (the man on the left in the picture) was the Tour Operator with whom they stayed.

Mr Swift has also been active throughout the years as the VP of the Commercial Famrmers Union and as a patron of the Sebakwe Black Rhino Trust. Not too mention being involved in the civil war in Zimbabwe.

The Caddicks (Carol’s family) befriended he and his family and are concerned about what’s happening over there. I guess we’ll update as we find things out.

Ike

Our next door neighbour, as some of you know, is an idiot, a screamer and a classic abuser. She berates someone and then becomes sickeningly sweet once she realizes that there may be consequences. She never quite takes responsibility. Carol and I have started calling her Ike. She reminds us of Ike Turner in his relationship with his wife Tina (see below):

We saw the Turner’s life together depicted in “What’s Love Got to Do with It”, where Ike was played by Laurence Fishburne (who was also Cowboy Curtis on Peewee’s Playhouse), and hilariously (yet sadly) played by Tim Meadows on Saturday Night Live.

It goes like this: Smack! “Oh Baby, Ike’s sorry. He won’t do it again” Smack! “Oh Baby, you shouldn’t upset Ike like that. Accidents happen. It won’t happen again.” Smack! etc etc…

Whiny Chapters.ca

It looks like Amazon.ca is not going to have an easy run at the web bookselling business in Canada. The already established Chapters/Indigo.ca is whining. Go Amazon. I have used the Chapters web service a number of times and have had horrible experiences. The service is trés bad and the prices are, in some cases, 30% higher than Amazon. Hopefully the competition will remain. This country needs a lot more of it to get the economy going again.

Weezer

I’m listening to Weezer right now. The blue Album; their debut (see below):

One of the coolest songs on this great CD is Buddy Holly. The video featured scenes from Happy Days!

Carol and I saw them a few years ago. They were great but I think the lead singer was drunk. We could have seen them at the Whiskey-A-GoGo in LA when we were there, but were too late to get tickets. The line was huge.

Airline Meals

If you’re sick of my lunch you may want to see what people flying on various airlines are having for meals. A great use of this site would be to check out what tragic culinary disaster you’re going to be subjected to if you take XYZ Air.

Thanks to my old work pal, Duncan O, for the link.
