9/11

I’ve changed the look of my site just for today. You know why.

I’m not going to post funny links or rant and rave about what I like or dislike today. Later on I may post some links to other sites commemorating September 11, 2001 in a special way.

There are many.

So much has happened this year. Many tears have been shed. The world is a different place.

I pray that the victims and their families, everyone in the free world for that matter, heals just a little more today. I hope that we can find new and creative ways to prevent the events from a year ago from ever happening again.

Let’s not forget this. Honestly, I don’t think I could if I tried.

I don’t think we’ll ever truly understand it. Who would care to know such depraved reasoning anyway?

I not only remember people, planes and buildings being destroyed. I remember line ups at blood banks. I remember volunteers chomping at the bit to go and assist in any way with the rescue and recovery efforts. I remember police and firemen collecting for the families of the victims. I remember the people opening their homes to stranded airline passengers in their time of need. There has been a lot of love between strangers since the horrible events that day. If there’s one thing we’ve learned since 9/11 it’s that even with all it’s warts our society still knows how to love.
