Viral filmmaking is being taken to another level by Absolut Pictures (yes, the vodka people). Check out MULIT, an interesting look at the origins of a bad haircut in India of all places. You’ll notice fairly consistantly within viral films they aren’t exactly commercials for the product sold under each brand name but have a representative attitude to more deeply ingrain the company’s brand into our culture. Knowing that Absolut was involved gives one better insight into what lifestyle/philosophy they are trying to sell. I think the only place I saw any reference to Absolut was the strategic placement of the vodka bottle shape (which is the brand) as a stamp in the trailer and I presume the entire 10 minute film.
