Al-Jazeera TV Airs ‘bin Laden’ Tape

The dirtbag mentions Canada as a US ally in his rant. If it is him we need to send out the Antique Roadshow to get him.

Happy Birthday Charlie

I’m in your head, man!

It’s Charles Manson’s 68th birthday today. Hard to believe this whacko is still kicking. I’ve always been interested in his crimes since I found out that the first of them took place 4 days after I was born. Perhaps it was the arrival of the anti-christ on August 5, 1969 that pushed him and the Family over the top.

Remembrance Day

November 11 is Remembrance Day for Canadians. It’s today that we remember those who fought and died for our country.

Why should we remember?:

We must remember. If we do not, the sacrifice of those one hundred thousand Canadian lives will be meaningless. They died for us, for their homes and families and friends, for a collection of traditions they cherished and a future they believed in; they died for Canada. The meaning of their sacrifice rests with our collective national consciousness; our future is their monument. (Heather Robertson, A Terrible Beauty, The Art of Canada at War. Toronto, Lorimer, 1977.)

Carol and I watched HBO’s miniseries Band of Brothers on DVD this weekend. It’s the true story of a company of American Paratroopers in WW2. Very well done. It was executive produced by Tom Hanks and Steven Speilberg who also gave life to another great World War 2 drama, Saving Private Ryan. I know neither of these were Canadian, but they do make you think about what people sacrificed so we can live as well as we do.

Get Off the Road

Some people are really bad drivers.

I think this one should be reported to The Idiot Driver Alert. How in the hell did she manage that?

Axl Rose says…

‘The plug got pulled on us’ According to him it was GM place’s fault. Looks like there’s a lot of finger pointing going on, but no one is taking responsibility.
