Optical Illusion

Carol sent me this optical illusion. It’s quite shocking. I’m not sure how that works.

Oceanfront Grand Prize Showhome

I wonder if we should buy a ticket for this new home lottery? We’ve bought a couple before and won squat (not a very good prize). We could use the $100 somewhere els, but it is for a good cause.

Back to the moon…

Looks like the European Space Agency is planning to head back to the moon to map it. Perhaps one day there will be a Space 1999 like base on the moon. Although we’re already a few years behind what that 1970’s vintage TV sci-fi hit. It still has quite a cult following and you can even buy the first two years on DVD. I’ve seen them at Virgin Records here in Vancouver and just might pick them up.
I loved the character of Commander Koenig, played by Martin Landau. He was tough as nails and always up for a scrap, either intellectually or physically. Maya, the shape shifter was pretty cool too. She was the only resident alien aboard Moonbase Alpha and could take the shape of any living thing in the universe. My favourite thing about the show, however, was the Eagle spacecraft (seen at left) they used to fly around in. Many a notepad was filled with my drawings of those fine (now I see quite phallic) ships.
Come on. I was just a kid.
